If you can read this…

…then the server transfer went through. Oh, and I did not do the subdirectory shift. Everything went smoothly enough, but I got stuck on the .htaccess mod_rewrite rules.

“Despite the tons of examples and docs, mod_rewrite is voodoo. Damned cool voodoo, but still voodoo. ”
– Brian Moore

I also moved around a bunch of images that were in older 2005-6 blog posts, I still need to fix those.

In other news, the Wikipedia page on .htaccess that I’ve linked to before has been removed, and redirected to Apache HTTP Server. This was done because the useful .htaccess page read too much like an instruction manual. I can’t say I like their solution. If I reads too much like a textbook, transfer the entire content to Wiki Books and write a stub saying exactly, in encyclopedic terms, what a .htaccess file is, and provide pointers to both Apache HTTP Server and the Wiki Book.

Fortunately, for the moment, you can access the latest version of the page by going here.
