So first I jumped to the conclusion that DC would hold permit requesters’ firearms for a few weeks, just because they could, when they brought them in for the permit process.

Then I apologized for that, issuing a correction while not redacting my original post, (unlike a certain Pulitzer prize winning local paper that won’t be named).

Now I understand, via WTOP’s radio broadcast, that Mr. Heller has brought a firearm in to DC to start the permit process, passed the test, but did not leave with his firearm. WTOP did not elaborate on why Mr. Heller wasn’t given his firearm back in light of the fact that yesterday’s permit seeker was given hers back, except to state that the FBI record check was not finished.

Update again: I’m getting conflicting stories, but I guess I have to doubt now what I clearly heard on the radio. Reason: Hit&Run is reporting that he could take it home. I don’t know what’s up at this point.

The Examiner concurs, he got to take it home.
