that civil literacy quiz going round, I got a 86-something on it…
I had a few of the same issues John De Armond had, but he wrote it up far more coherantly than I would, so I’m linking.
I think he hocked a loogie on the first one, though. He brings up queston 6 and somehow argues that all the amendments somehow are part of the “Bill of Rights”. Ah no, not even the twenty-seventh is considered part of that club, which is only comprised of the first ten amendments to be ratified. I’ve never heard of any other usage.
He even says nearly as such in answer 6 of his quiz’s question #2.
Otherwise a recommended read.

Really? Did you use any google-fu? I didn’t and got the Greek philosopher question wrong, though I know that’s your major.

I got a 100%, but I had taken a previous version some time ago. Most of the questions are the same, though. This one is a bit easier as they removed or modified the “bonds” question.
(On the first version I took, I got somewhere between 85-96%. I can’t quite remember.)

Being one of the 31337 few who know the slightly archaic meaning of “well regulated”, and also how FDR wanted to pack the Supremes with his yes-men, I was a little ticked to only get a B. I do admit I wasn’t quite up on my Greek Philosophers and the Lincoln Douglas debates though.

I somehow swung a 31 out of 33, but being that I am an engineer, I am not entirely sure how. Good guessing, I suppose
