newspeak: “neighborhood stabilization activities”
from Linoage, what is “neighborhood stabilization activities”? (link is google-fu) How does it differ from pork?
My best guess is that this is a scheme to use taxpayer dollars to buy up abandoned properties and create an artificial scarcity in order to make private ownership less affordable. Inflate the deflated bubble a bit with federal money we don’t have and can’t afford to borrow.

Linoge Says :
Well, part of those “neighborhood stabilization activities” are the good old folks at ACORN, getting their pay-off from the Democrats.
I guess one should repay people for services rendered, but this is pushing it.
